Greetings and welcome to NaturalBrotha.com a place for the brotha's to come kickback and discuss the issue of hair. Whether you have an afro, braids, or locs this is the spot for you.
The idea for this website came to me a few years ago when I finally decided after years of debating to grow some locs. I wanted to do a little research and get some good advice on how to start growing my Locs and what would be the best products to use.During my search I noticed that every, and I do mean every site I came across were geared toward women. I thought to myself, there has to be something out there for the brotha's, just the brotha's, but there was nothing at least nothing I could find. So I decided to put together a website, a website that would help the brotha's like no other. A place where you and I could call home. Where you could discuss product, style, and obstacles that you may encounter. The process of growing our hair can be very spiritual and special to many of us. It's a journey that require much patience and support. This is the place to receive all that and more. If there is anything special that you would like to see on here please don't hesitate to drop me a line and let me know. Thank you and again, welcome.

Featured Stylist
Naturally Twisted

1. Name and where are you from?
My name is Dehlia and i am from the Bronx, NY.
2. How long have you been on your Loc journey?
I have been on my lock journey for five years now.
3. I love some of your designs, where do you get your inspiration from?
I get my inspiration from nature and my clients; the way they dress and their life style.
4. How often should someone get their Locs retwisted?
I recommend that a person re-twist their hair any where between two - six months based on the seasons.

5. What made you decide to become a Loctician?
I enjoy doing natural hair and locks pushed my creativity to a whole new level. Locks are so versatile, there are so many textures as well as a verity of styles that they can be put into.
6. What advice would you give a brotha who's thinking of growing Locs?
No, the real question is " why not lock"? Locks are so sexy on a brotha! They can also be a life changing experience; they teach you patience.
7. What products, if any, do you suggest for maintenance?
I recommend a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, a herbal liquid oil ( no wax or mineral oil), and a non alcohol water based gel. Please do hot oil treatment especially in the winter ( the cold air dry out the hair).
8. What are some of the myths about black men and Locs?
Some myths are:
"he must not shower, his dirty"
"oh, he must be a Rasta i bet he smokes weed"
"is he Jamaican"
"he must be a vegan"
9. Will Locs cause damage to my hair?
No, as long as you are good to your locks they will be good to you.
10. Any final thoughts?
Like I always say " the cleaner the locks the better you feel".
